Transfer to your hotel to leave the luggages (if rooms are available, check in).
A mini city tour: Mercato (the biggest open air market in East Africa), Trinity Cathedral (the magnificent baroque style architecture), Entoto Mountain (highest peak and city view at 3,200m above sea level, and more.
Welcome Dinner at Ethiopian Cultural Restaurant. Enjoy the music and dance from different parts of the country over traditional food (injera) and honey wine (teji)!
|Day 2||ADDIS ABABA - TIYA - ARBA MINCH
After breakfast, go on a road trip to the South.
Today we drive to Arba Minch along the Butajira road.
On the way, visit the stelae of Tiya. Lunch stop in Welayta town - This town known for the finest Kutfo (raw meat dish of Ethiopia).
|Day 3||ARBA MINCH - DORZE - ARBA MINCH - KONSO
Morning drive to a village of the Dorze people (around 2700-3000m above sea level) who live in hilly mountain of Gughe (the highest peak in the region). They were once warriors and now turned to agriculturalists. Their houses are typically beehive shaped huts, and they are famous for their weaving culture. .
Lunch back in Arba Minch.
After lunch, boat trip on Lake Chamo where crocodiles can be seen in abundance. This place is locally known as the crocodile market since several crocodiles can be seen at a time. Also found are Hippos and different kinds of birds including storks, Egyptian goose, herons etc.
Late afternoon continue drive to Konso. (90Km)
|Day 4||KONSO - TURMI
Morning visit the Konso village,The Konso people are famous for their natural resource conservation activities such as terracing. They are also known for wood carving art. The Waga village for the woodcarvings erected as a mark of tomb. The Konso terracing is recognized by UNESCO as world heritage site. Then drive to Turmi 160Km. Lunch in Turmi then visitTurmi Market of Hammer people.
If we are lucky, we can catch the Bull Jumping Ceremony of the Hammer people - promotion for the young men from childhood to adulthood. If a boy can jump on top of morethan 20 bulls (3 round trips), then he is considered as an adult man and can marry any beautiful girls in the village.
|Day 5||TURMI - KARO - DIMEKA - JINKA
In the early morning drive to Karo village to visit the Karo people and their calture. (140Km) Then drive to Dimeka to visit the Hamer and Karo market. (20Km)
Lunch in Dimeka.
After lunch drive to Jinka. (90Km) Hotel check in and if time allows visit the South OMO ethnological museum
|Day 6||JINKA - MAGO/MURSI - JINKA - ARBAMINCH
In the morning, drive through Mago National Park to visit the Mursi village. (90Km)
The world famous Mursi people - known for the clay disc the female insert in to their lower lips as a mark of beauty. The larger the disc is, the more beautiful the lady is considered to be.
Lunch in Jinka.
After lunch drive to Arbaminch. (260Km)
|Day 7||ARBAMINCH - ADDIS ABABA
After breakfast drive to Addis Ababa through Langano. (500km). Short stop to visit in Shashemene(The Rasta village) and lake langano and lake Ziway.
Dinner in Addis Ababa.
